South Africa is by far the greenest wine producing country in the world. We take the lead in the field of preserving our unique natural heritage in our wine lands.

Our industry has put many programs and actions into place to measure the impact of wine producing on our environment. We are lucky that we have very conservation-minded wine producers who support these programs passionately. They are keen to identify what is unique, rare and special on their farms, find ways to preserve the fynbos and renosterveld (indigenous vegetation) of the Cape Floral Kingdom, and minimize the further loss of our threatened natural habitat.
