Wines of South Africa brings refreshed country positioning to ProWein 2016
Wines of South Africa (WOSA) will present a refreshed country image at this year’s ProWein trade show in March, incorporating an updated stand design, plus newly created logo and strapline, “welcome to our world of discovery”. The new positioning aims to place more emphasis on South Africa’s innovative culture and the warm South African welcome, which is one of the four pillars of Wines of South Africa’s brand positioning. The other three pillars are heritage, environment and production integrity.
Over 100 producers, the largest ever South African contingent, will exhibit on the Wines of South Africa stand at the show, Hall 9: B28, B38, B48 on 13th to 15th March 2016. A full list of exhibitors can be found on the WOSA website, ranging from major multi-brand owners and co-operatives to small independent winemakers. Visitors to the stand will be able to experience the excitement and energy that currently surrounds the South African wine industry.
In addition to the producers exhibiting Wines of South Africa will present the Discover South Africa tasting zone, with two sessions each day exploring 11 key themes around South African wine and enabling visitors to develop a greater understanding of the wines, winemakers and stories from the country. The morning session will run from 11.00 – 14.30 and the afternoon session from 15.00 – 18.30. In addition to this free-pour tasting zone, there will be a blind tasting where delegates can test their South African wine knowledge and tasting skills. Further details on the Discover South Africa tasting zone can be found on the WOSA website.
At 13.30 on Monday 14th March, South African winemaking legend, Bruce Jack, founder of Flagstone and Drift Farm wines, will present a seminar on behalf of Wines of South Africa in the ProWein Forum, Hall 13. The seminar, entitled ‘Innovation and Diversity in South African Wine’ will celebrate the historical revival of early plantings and revel in the new varietals being planted. Bruce Jack will take visitors on a journey through the innovation and diversity that is the new and ever-changing face of winemaking and wine brands in South Africa.
Commenting on the event, Siobhan Thompson, CEO, Wines of South Africa, said: “The Wines of South Africa stand at ProWein offers international buyers and influencers a great opportunity to taste the diversity and quality of South African wines and find perfect wines for their businesses. Our aim is to tell the South African story through the many producers on the stand and through the carefully chosen themes in the tasting zone.”
